Rachel Doern Announced as Opening Keynote for BCI World Hybrid 2026

We are delighted to announce Rachel Doern, author of The Resilient Entrepreneur: From Crisis to Enlightenment, as the opening keynote speaker for BCI World Hybrid 2026, taking place on 10–11 November 2026 at Convene St Paul’s, London, UK and virtually.

With this year’s theme, Returns on Resilience, BCI World Hybrid 2026 will explore how organisations can move beyond viewing resilience as a compliance requirement and instead recognise it as a driver of value, trust, and long-term performance.

Rachel will open the conference with her keynote, The Skill of Resilience, challenging delegates to rethink one of the most widely used concepts in the profession.

Resilience as a capability, not a trait

What changes when resilience is treated as an individual and organisational skill rather than as a trait to be elicited or an outcome to be achieved?

Drawing on her research into crisis management and resilience, as well as the insights explored in her book The Resilient Entrepreneur: From Crisis to Enlightenment, Rachel will examine why organisations must start with people and culture if they want to build resilience that is effective, sustainable and embedded.

Her keynote will explore how resilience can move beyond frameworks and policies to become something that is actively developed, strengthened and practised across an organization. By focusing on behaviours, mindsets and culture, delegates will gain a fresh perspective on what it takes to build resilience capability that stands up when it matters most.

Setting the tone for BCI World Hybrid 2026

As organizations face growing uncertainty, from cyber threats and supply chain disruption to economic and geopolitical challenges, the conversation around resilience is evolving. Increasingly, resilience professionals are being asked not only to deliver resilience, but to demonstrate the value it creates for their organisation.

Rachel’s keynote sets the tone for a conference designed to help delegates build stronger decision-making, influence leadership conversations and position resilience as a strategic capability that supports organisational success.

Whether attending in person or online, delegates can expect a thought-provoking opening session that reframes resilience as something organisations can actively build through their people, culture and everyday practices.
